Data Cloud offers a powerful solution in streamlining and processing a wide array of data elements from multiple sources, effectively merging them with the Salesforce CRM data. The objective being to effectively eliminate data silos. This sophisticated system utilizes a lakehouse setup to save your data, establishing a seamless connection with the Salesforce Platform. Leveraging Data Cloud allows for effective data processing at a large-scale level, enables data queries, and the creation of insightful analytics drawn from billions of data sets. Most notably, customer data is consolidated in a way that allows for the construction of advanced insights based on customer profiles.

Data is absorbed into Data Cloud through various connectors. These include, but are not limited to, Salesforce CRM, B2C Commerce, and Marketing Cloud. Data from web and mobile marketing is accurately captured through various SDKs, the Ingestion API, the Mulesoft Anypoint Connector, and connectors linked to cloud data services such as Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Storage play a critical role as well.

 

Data Cloud's compatibility with Snowflake is another compelling feature. It facilitates the process of data reading without necessitating a data copy to Data Cloud, enhancing efficiency.

 

With the Connect API, platform applications are able to access data in Data Cloud using REST or Apex, and metadata can be accessed via the Metadata API. Web Apps that do not utilize Salesforce Platform features can access Data Cloud using the Data Cloud API. Differing from the Connect API, theData Cloud API leverages a tenant-specific endpoint within Hyperforce.

 

Analytical services connectors, for instance, Tableau, serve a crucial function in enabling the viewing and reporting of data and insights. As a result, decision-making processes can be significantly augmented.

 

Through a webhook, Data Cloud can establish a connection with external cloud services, examples being Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud. These platforms can digest the unified data and insights. Through AWS, Data Cloud can integrate back to the Platform using Platform features including Salesforce Connect and Event Relays. Furthermore, with Amazon Sagemaker or Google Cloud Vertex AI, you can introduce your own AI model to Data Cloud.
